Part of leading a police force is making sure each sworn in officer is capable of handling extreme situations through experience and extreme exercise- which is why our founder and “Fitness Czar” Samir Becic was particularly interested in paying a visit to the Houston Police Academy.

Today, he met with the leadership at the Academy and was impressed by their personal fitness levels and dedication to training all incoming cadets. Commander Anthony-Miller, Lieutenant Morefield, and Sergeant Farquhar took Samir on a tour of the training facilities and explained all the rigorous training the Houston Police force must go through in order to wear a uniform. Samir gifted 10 signed copies of his book “ReSYNC Your Life” to be awarded to the fittest cadets at graduation.

The Houston Police Department’s Training Academy prepares cadets for a career in law enforcement through a diligent six month academic and physical training program. The leadership at the Academy proudly showed up their wall of records- that ranged from the fastest 1.5 miles to highest vertical jump. Samir left the academy impressed with the program and looking forward to collaborating in the future.

On July 3, 2019, Samir Becic and the Health Fitness Revolution team took a trip downtown to the Houston Police department to meet Chief Art Acevedo, the Houston Police Chief. During the visit, Samir met other department officials in Houston and presented them each with a copy of his book ReSync Your Life. Samir and Chief Acevedo proceded to discuss future collaborations between himself and the Houston Police Academy that trains all incoming Cadets. Now a month later and Samir visited the actual police cadet academy and awarded 10 of his  ReSync Your Life books to the top 10 fittest cadets.

Sworn in on November 30, 2016, Chief Art Acevedo happens to be the first Hispanic chief in the history of Houston, leading over 5,200 sworn-in law enforcement officers and 1,200 civilians. Since 2016, Chief Art Acevedo has done an impeccable job keeping the streets of Houston a safe place. Being the first Hispanic to lead the police force he offers an interesting perspective and tries to bring unity to the diverse streets of Houston.
