The Houston Rockets franchise celebrated the 20-year anniversary of the team’s back-to-back NBA championships from 1994-95, and Health Fitness Revolution founder Samir Becic was at the Toyota Center to celebrate the milestone with former Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich, who is certainly the best basketball coach in Houston’s history.
Tomjanovich, along with several of the former Rockets from the championship teams, including Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Mario Elie, Vernon Maxwell, Robert Horry and Otis Thorpe, were honored during halftime at the March 19 Rockets game.
Tomjanovich, who played for the Rockets for 11 years, coached the Rockets for 20 years and won two consecutive NBA championships during his time as head coach. In 2000, he received the honor of coaching the U.S. men’s basketball team to win the gold medal at the Olympics in Sydney, Australia.
“I am honored to celebrate Rudy’s achievements with him and his two children because for me, Rudy is the best basketball coach in the world!” Becic said.
