  • Lived Experience Advocate: Global spokesperson for Witnesses to Hunger, speaking at the White House and featured in major media outlets. As a global, bilingual spokesperson for Witnesses to Hunger, Barbie Izquierdo has spoken at the White House under the Obama-Biden administration. She has been featured in prominent media outlets such as the Associated Press, CNN, the Washington Post, BBC World News, People Magazine, and has made appearances at conferences and podcasts. Being an Afro-Latina born and raised in North Philadelphia, Izquierdo has firsthand experience of the impacts of food insecurity and other social justice issues, which drives her advocacy work.
