The innovative Complete Communities Project was created to give Houston’s residents and business owners access to quality services and amenities in their neighborhoods. Working closely with community residents who want more for their neighborhoods, understanding their strengths and opportunities and collaborating with partners across the city, Mayor Turner and the Complete Communities Project are helping Houston residents improve the area for everyone. As Mayor Turner said in his opening remarks at the event, “It is about maintaining the culture of these communities while improving their infrastructure!” Houston Fitness Czar, Samir Becic was there to support Mayor Sylvester Turner in his efforts of making Houston a healthier, happier, and more vibrant city.
Houston Mayor @SylvesterTurner gave an amazing speech during the event for Houston Complete Communities. I was there to show my support!

At the Eastwood Aquatics Center on June 20, Mayor Turner announced five new neighborhoods that have been added to the Complete Communities initiative! The new neighborhoods are Alief, Kashmere Gardens, Fort Bend Houston, Magnolia Park – Manchester, and Sunnyside. According the official city website, “The City will work in a concentrated manner with stakeholders in each area and partners across Houston to create more complete neighborhoods with enhanced access to quality affordable homes, jobs, well-maintained parks and greenspace, improved streets and sidewalks, grocery stores and other retail, good schools and transit options. The work in these neighborhoods will help develop solutions that are transferable to other communities in Houston creating One Complete City.”
