Recently, newly elected Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner joined the #PushUpsEverywhere campaign in an effort to raise obesity awareness in his city. Mr. Turner easily did his 10 push-ups, then challenging the Mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti to do 10 #PushUpsEverywhere to promote health in their cities as well. Mayor Turner also said if he completed his, he would do 20 more!
Mayor Garcetti used to once be part of a breakdancing crew and says he and his wife grow most of their own food, with chickens being in their near future! Let’s hope such a healthy mayor joins a great campaign to promote health within his city!
#PushUpsEverywhere is a campaign launched by Health Fitness Revolution to push America to become a fitter nation. The challenge consists of filming yourself or someone doing 10 push-ups, uploading to Facebook, Twitter or Youtube, challenging two of your friends and tagging #PushUpsEverywhere.
