The Texas grocer is on top according to dunnhumby! H-E-B bested its list which ranked the grocers based on the annual Retailer Preference Index, or RPI. In the study polling 7,500 individuals, they found that HEB — and other local grocers — are becoming stronger in competing with non-traditional national chains like Amazon.
Jose Gomes, president of North America for dunnhumby reasoned that HEB’s popularity had to do with its core values “One of the most important findings is that leading traditional regional grocers are experiencing a resurgence in customer preference, by winning with relevance and convenience.”
From a health standpoint, HEB has increased the number of healthy foods offered at their locations in addition to offering private 1-hour dietician consultations for customers to help them stay on track. The wellness portion of their site is extensive, offering a great resource for those trying to stay on track with new years resolutions, dietary restrictions, and healthy meal planning.
