Dr. Peter Hotez to Receive Prestigious Winslow Medal from Yale

Dr. Peter Hotez, a distinguished pediatrician-scientist and a leading figure in global health, has been selected as the 2024 recipient of the prestigious C.-E. A. Winslow Medal. This honor, awarded by the Yale School of Public Health, recognizes individuals whose work embodies the ideals of C.-E. A. Winslow, a pioneer of modern public health.

Dr. Hotez serves as the co-director of the Texas Children’s Hospital Center for Vaccine Development and is a professor and dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. His groundbreaking contributions to vaccine development and his commitment to addressing neglected tropical diseases and public health disparities have made a significant impact globally.

Over his illustrious career, Dr. Hotez has led efforts to develop vaccines for diseases affecting impoverished populations, with an estimated 100 million doses reaching low- and middle-income countries.
