The H.E.A.R.T. Program hosted their 16th Annual Luncheon yesterday, which proved to be a heartwarming celebration of community and compassion. For over 15 years, this event has honored outstanding individuals who have made a difference for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
This year’s luncheon recognized Wayne Young, CEO of The Harris Center, with the prestigious “Making Change, Changing Hearts” Award. Under his leadership, The Harris Center has transformed thousands of lives through exemplary mental health and IDD services. Young truly embodied the spirit of this award through his tireless advocacy.
Leading the charge behind this impactful organization is Founder and Board Chair Jane Borochoff. For over 15 years, Jane’s vision and passion have guided The H.E.A.R.T. Program in its mission to empower those with IDD. Under Jane’s leadership, The H.E.A.R.T. Program has flourished, now supporting over 100 individuals annually. Her advocacy and care have been instrumental in changing lives and challenging perceptions. The luncheon was a testament to Jane’s incredible work building an organization that enriches the lives of so many.
All proceeds from the luncheon benefited The H.E.A.R.T. Program’s vital mission of empowering low-income individuals with IDD through employment training. Since 2006, they have provided life-changing opportunities to over 1,000 deserving people. Here are some images of the incredible luncheon:
Health Fitness Revolution founder Samir Becic attended the event and found it deeply moving. He was impressed by the compassion shown as champions of change were honored and enjoyed seeing Sue Davis and Sherriff Ed Gonzalez supporting such a noble cause in community. On X (formerly Twitter) he said “I had a wonderful time at the luncheon organized by The Heart Program. They are doing an excellent job of helping people in need, and it was an honor to be a part of it. I was glad to see Sue Davis and Sheriff Gonzalez there as well. Thank you, Sheriff, for your unwavering commitment to our great city.”
